Teachers from around the district came together to commence the first of a range of high quality professional learning opportunities being built around Young North Public School's new Deputy Principal level Instructional Leader.
Young North Public School's Instructional Leader, Mrs Angela Gay, was excited to be surrounded by dedicated colleagues from Wombat PS, Young North PS and EA Southee-Cootamundra.
"It is a privilege to be in a position where my entire focus is to help teachers be the very best that they can be," shared Angela.
Mrs Gay's Instructional Leader role sees her working with teachers as a mentor and coach, as a model of excellence through team teaching and as a trainer leading professional learning.
Principal Kel Smerdon noted that these professional learning opportunities are targeted directly at building the highest quality teaching professionals who use data driven decision making to impact upon their learners.
"We have all had those great teachers who made the difference for us in our learning. At Young North we are looking forward to systematically ensuring that all of our teachers are those teachers all of the time".
Mr Smerdon added that the school's teaching theme for 2017 is "Together we create learning".
